An ambitious mixed-use development
Atenor Group and Build-Up entrusted the construction of the Up-Site complex to Valens SA, in joint venture with BPC.
The project was designed by architects Ateliers Lion & Associés and A2RC Architects. It includes a 140 m-high, 42-storey tower (255 apartments over 42,000 m²), four 8-storey terraced buildings (106 apartments over 13,000 m²), 2,000 m² of shops, four office buildings over 29,500 m², for a total surface area of 122,500 m².
The complex was handed over in 2014 after three years of work.
Sustainable development: an exemplary project
The tallest residential building in Belgium, the Up-Site tower focuses on energy efficiency and reducing consumption.
The complex is equipped with rainwater harvesters, external wall insulation and roof gardens fitted with solar panels.
Together with the use of canal water for summer comfort, these systems reduce energy consumption by 30%.
