Heritage conservation, innovation in construction

The former Halle Debat-Ponsan, newly named Halle Boca, underwent a spectacular renovation: in two years, teams from Eiffage Immobilier and Eiffage Construction transformed former abattoirs dating from 1938 into a new hub of shops, offices and a hotel.
While conserving the town's heritage, our experts have contributed to its revitalisation.
The project was carried out in two phases:
- Renovation and conversion of Bordeaux's former abattoirs into shops and restaurants
- Construction of a complex of three buildings hosting offices and a hotel

An award-winning technical, architectural and virtuous building
Designed by the architectural firm Nicolas Michelin et Associés at the request of the Bordeaux-Euratlantique public development establishment (EPA), this project was awarded two prizes:
- In 2016, the regional commercial property award: recognition of the technical and aesthetic efforts made in the service of New Aquitaine.
- In 2019, the Clés d'Or special mention went to Halle Boca
The original structure of the former abattoirs and the memory of the site have been preserved, highlighting these remarkable buildings and the existing vaults, encrusted with 1,200 glass bricks.
In addition to its architectural qualities and highly technical nature, the project forms part of the Eiffage Group's ambitious environmental approach by being certified BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) level Very Good.
Halle Boca in a few figures:
- 6,800 m² of shops, restaurants and food outlets with 10 restaurants, bars or cafés in the original building
- 3 new buildings covering more than 23,000 m² including:
- 6,300 m² of 4-star hotel
- 10,500 m² of office space
- 640 m² of outdoor spaces
