Rennes Métropole, via the SEMTCAR (Société d'Economie Mixte des Transports Collectifs de l'Agglomération Rennaise), entrusted last 4 February to a group led by Eiffage Construction the realization of the relay car park of Saint-Jacques - Gaîté. This project is part of the construction of the city’s second metro line.
The relay car park of Saint-Jacques - Gaîté will be part of a set of 3 new relay car parks allowing users to leave their vehicles there to use the new public transport available (Metro, Bus, Bike, ...).
The Eiffage Construction teams will secure the enclosed and covered parking of this 800 seat R+7 silo, designed by the firm TETRARC, whose structure will combine concrete and metal. Particularities of this construction include the construction of 2 propellers serving the different levels, the installation of concrete strips in the façade, floors in cellular slabs and then in collaborating bins, a longitudinal "W" shaped in the form of 90m long, laminated exterior sails in raw concrete and the installation of photovoltaic panels in the roof.
The preparatory period will last 3 months, the work will occupy about 30 companions under 2 cranes and the delivery of the parking is scheduled for summer 2020, in time for the commissioning of the new metro line.
Complementing the installation package of the access gates, in partnership with Clemessy, brand of expertise in engineering and the implementation of technical facilities of Eiffage Energie Sytèmes, and the 3 lots of facilities of stations already treated, this is the 5th lot of work entrusted to Eiffage Construction by SEMTCAR on the operation of construction of the new metro line.
