Eiffage Construction wins the contract to renovate almost 700 social housing homes across three municipalities in the Nord department (France)

Eiffage Construction has been entrusted by Maisons & Cités, the major social landlord in the Pas-de-Calais and Nord departments of France, with the renovation of 670 homes in the municipalities of Lourches, Escaudain and Raismes, near Valenciennes.

The project involves 167 homes in the Schneider housing estate, which spans Lourches and Escaudain, and 504 homes in the Sabatier housing estate in Raismes. Alterea Nord and BLAU are the principal contractors for the first site, with the second managed by Nortec, Archiae, Marc Varlet and Atelier Altern.

The objects of this purchase order contract are to reduce threefold the energy consumption in individual homes (BBC Rénovation label) and to carry out substantial interior improvement works. The exterior works will focus on ensuring consistent treatment for all buildings in the two garden cities.

In line with the Eiffage group’s low-carbon strategy, this project aims to stimulate the circular economy and to recycle the maximum possible quantity of materials and equipment from the site. A resources assessment is under way to identify the best streams to ensure the recyclability of the existing buildings. Local jobs will be prioritised, including a target of more than 25,000 hours of access to employment jobs.

Works will begin in a few weeks’ time at a rate of six homes per month per site on average. Delivery of the first homes is expected from the end of this year and will continue until 2025.

Congratulations to all the teams and to our partners for this new contract!
