Eiffage Construction delivers

As part of the Anglet campus project, the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays Basque (CAPB), in its capacity as project owner, has taken the initiative to make the Landes de Juzan campus a major demonstrator of sustainable construction and energy transition. Thanks to this new building, the Institut Supérieur Aquitain du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics will be able to train more student engineers to become works managers, design office engineers, control office engineers, project managers and project managers.

The operation consists of extending the existing premises of the Institut Supérieur Aquitain du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics, with a floor area of almost 5,750 m2, and is intended to provide students with more spacious classrooms and practical work areas.

The building, designed in full BIM (Building Information Model) or more commonly known as a "digital model" by Eiffage Construction, is intended to be a model of its kind as a "sustainable" building.

The architecture of the operation is "bioclimatic": it takes advantage of the characteristics and particularities of the location. The exposure of the building means that air conditioning units are not installed in the rooms and that natural ventilation is used.

The optimisation and frugality of the construction can be found in the following areas

  • Acoustics (quantity of false ceiling optimised for the creation of an island)
  • Natural lighting (optimised size of windows)
  • Solar protection (number, size and position of sunshades optimised)

On the environmental level, the E3C1 certified project includes

  • Geothermal foundation piles;
  • Solar panels for energy support with surplus resale;
  • Reuse of excavated soil on site;
  • Rainwater recovery for sanitation and watering.

The engineering and research students of ISA BTP will discover their new campus at the beginning of the school year 2022.

Congratulations to our teams in the South-West region for the creation of this centre of excellence in sustainable construction!
