Eiffage Construction: a challenging task in the heart of Paris

Dismantling this crane was a bit like getting a bull out of china shop.
Imagine a 55-metre-high crane, erected in the centre of one of Paris’s busy retail shopping areas, a stone’s throw from the Le Bon Marché department store…

Well, this crane was successfully dismantled a short while ago in just two days in Paris’s 7th arrondissement. A first 90-tonne mobile crane was installed to erect a second 350-tonne mobile crane to dismantle the tower crane.
The operation involved partially closing Rue de Sèvres down to a single lane to keep the traffic moving. To the great satisfaction of the local residents, the project team went to great pains to lay out a red carpet and two Christmas trees in front of the shops that might have been inconvenienced by the operation.
Dismantling this crane became a real source of entertainment in the neighbourhood.
In short: operation successfully completed!
Congratulations to the Eiffage Construction Equipements team
