3 Eiffage Construction subsidiaries in the Benelux countries will soon be moving to a more sustainable and comfortable site

It's decided : Eiffage Benelux, Valens and Eiffage Development are jointly planning a move to the Brussels region within the next two to three years! Following exclusive negotiations with property developer e-maprod, the three entities, subsidiaries of Eiffage Construction, signed a deed of sale at the end of December 2020 for their historic headquarters on Avenue Brugmann in Saint-Gilles.

This delay of 2 to 3 years can be explained by the willingness of the Belgian teams to set up a specific project and to prospect the market in order to target a single site that meets all the criteria of accessibility, durability, energy efficiency and comfort for its employees.

Christophe Van Ophem, Managing Director of Eiffage Benelux, explains why this move is a challenge for our Belgian subsidiaries:
"This move is part of the new mobility and sustainable development policy that Eiffage Benelux is implementing. The sought-after site in the Brussels region will not only have to be accessible by public transport but will also be designed to meet the ambitious objectives we have set ourselves in terms of energy performance and reducing our carbon footprint. In order to best meet the expectations of our employees, we have conducted an internal survey to target the main wishes of our staff. The collaborative principle is favoured in determining our future location and layout".

Christian Stenuit, CEO e-maprod Belgium, is also delighted with this operation:
"This acquisition is part of e-maprod's development strategy. Our company needed a new head office in order to accompany and amplify its expansion by adding new assets to its portfolio. In doing so, it reinforces its deep conviction to invest more in the office market alongside the residential market. The acquisition marks the launch of a high-end and exclusive project of 38 flats and a space for professionals on the ground floor."

This is proof that all local initiatives, in addition to operations and worksites, have an impact and are part of global initiatives, such as the Eiffage Group's ambitious environmental approach, for example!
