The marriage of two hospitals
The project comprises two clearly identified establishments, joined by a large horizontal roof: the Pôle hospitalier mutualiste and the Centre hospitalier de Saint-Nazaire.
The new whole forms a 750-bed medical, surgical and obstetrics complex, including a boarding school building (1,924 m² of floor area), the French Blood Establishment (EFS), with 778 m², and the Public Treasury with 218 m².
Inside, the facilities are structured around a common reception area and a shared technical platform.
A co-promotion project
The building was designed by the Groupe 6 architectural. Eiffage Construction carried out the construction work with Eiffage énergie. The development was led by Eiffage Immobilier Ouest, in partnership with Icade. Delivery in 2012.
The project is a benchmark for sustainable development, incorporating a wood-fired heating system and solar panels. The thermal performance of the materials used meets the most demanding standards.
