On Tuesday, 20 December 2016, Eiffage Immobilier signed a property development contract to build the Mama Shelter Toulouse with Keys Asset Management, acting on behalf of one of its investment vehicles and funded by a pool of leasing companies, Arkea Crédit Bail and Natixis Lease. At the same time as this contract was signed, Toulouse City Hall, at the instigation of its Mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc, released the land for sale so that work could commence in early 2017.
This operation with a total surface area of 4990 m², located on Boulevard Carnot in Toulouse’s historic town centre will include a new hotel under the Mama Shelter name. The heritage façade with its four arches dating from the early 20th century, will be retained. The project’s core will include a 270 m2 restaurant and bar, 120 rooms with a quirky design by Thierry Gaugain, and 140 m² of meeting rooms. The 6th floor will include a 200 m2 rooftop area with a restaurant and relaxation area. Finally, in keeping with the area’s historic tradition, the development will include a cinema and concert space.
Toulouse architects PPA have been contacted for the architectural design.
Following the several months needed to finalise all the contractual details, Eiffage Immobilier will start work in early 2017 in line with the commitments made to the City of Toulouse and its business partners. Eiffage Construction is in charge of the construction work with the opening scheduled for October 2018.
