Following the successful completion of Danone's headquarters in Rueil Malmaison in October 2020, the major French group reaffirmed its confidence in us by awarding Eiffage Construction Tertiaire the construction of the IN'CUBE building, its future research and development centre in Gif-sur-Yvette on the Saclay plateau. This autumn, our Eiffage Construction Bois teams are installing the final wooden elements of this remarkable project, which has exemplary environmental ambitions.
Construction work is in full swing! Started just over a year ago, it will be completed next autumn so that Danone Research can accommodate its 600 employees.
This exceptionally large-scale operation, with more than 21,000 sqm of floor space, will be built on a 4-storey level, with 2 levels of superstructure built of wood, the installation of which is currently being completed. In total, 8,300 sqm of wooden floors and nearly 600 cubic meter of glued laminated wood for the supporting posts will be incorporated into the project. The French timber used (spruce) is produced and shaped in the Vosges and then delivered directly to the site.
In addition to these wooden elements, the addition of photovoltaic panels allows the project to aim for HQE Bâtiment Durable 2016 level Excellent, BREEAM NC 2016 level Excellent, BBCA V3, Osmoz (1 lever) and Ready2Services (1 star) certifications. It is thus part of the Eiffage Group's ambitious environmental approach.
Comprising offices and laboratories, ARTE CHARPENTIER ARCHITECTES designed the project, and our subsidiary Goyer will create the façade.
Congratulations to our teams and thanks to our partners:
