La Halle Boca in Bordeaux
spectacular renovation

A mixed operation
for the rehabilitation
of historic heritage

Heritage conservation,
construction innovation

The former Halle Debat-Ponsan, now called Halle Boca, has undergone a spectacular renovation: in two years, the Eiffage Immobilier and Eiffage Construction teams have transformed the former slaughterhouses, which date from 1938, into a new centre for shops, offices and hotel.

While preserving the city's heritage, our teams have contributed to its dynamism. The project was carried out in two stages:

  • Renovation and conversion of the former Bordeaux slaughterhouses into shops and restaurants
  • Construction of a complex of three buildings to house offices and a hotel

An award-winning technical,
architectural and
virtuous building

Designed by the Nicolas Michelin et Associés architectural agency at the request of the Bordeaux-Euratlantique public development establishment (EPA), this project has received two awards

  • In 2016, the regional commercial property award: recognition of the technical and aesthetic efforts made in the service of New Aquitaine.
  • In 2019, the special mention of the Clés d'Or goes to the Halle Boca

The original structure of the former slaughterhouses and the memory of the site have been preserved, highlighting these remarkable buildings and the existing vaults, encrusted with 1,200 glass blocks.

In addition to its architectural qualities and its high level of technicality, the project is part of the Eiffage Group's ambitious environmental approach, being certified BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Very Good.

In a few figures...

  • 6,800 sqm of shops, restaurants and food stores with 10 restaurants, bars or cafés in the original building
  • 3 new buildings covering more than 23,000 sqm, including :
    • 6,300 sqm of hotel space ****
    • 10,500 sqm of offices
    • 640 sqm of terraces

Modern architecture and heritage blend together to make this area more dynamic and meet the needs of all users in this business hub.
