This Wednesday, July 10, the official ceremony of the handing over of keys between the army and the City of Montigny-lès-Metz took place on the site of the Lizé barracks and then at the Château de Courcelles in Montigny-lès-Metz. A handover that concretizes the project of conversion of this iconic site realized by the teams of Eiffage Aménagement.
This handing over of the keys was symbolically achieved by the handing over of one of the keys of a work of the Maginot line. All members of the developer-Promoter group: Eiffage Aménagement as representative of the group, Demathieu & Bard Immobilier, CM-CIC Aménagement Foncier, Eiffage Immobilier, Rizzon and Habiter Promotion were invited to this event.
The objective of this rehabilitation is to constitute a model of city offering a place of life as complete as possible while preserving the historic heritage of the sites.
The project will offer residents new living areas with 630 housing units, an intergenerational residence Cocoon'Âges, a senior residence and 600 m² of businesses. The heart of the project is characterized by a large landscaped area of 1.2 hectares where the majority of large trees will be conserved. The neighbourhood will be exemplary in terms of sustainable development and energy performance in order to obtain the eco-district label.
This ceremony of handing over the keys is an important step in the conversion of the Lizé barracks and more widely in the reappropriation of this town centre by the residents of the 2 parts of the municipality, Montigny-haut and Montigny-bas. This event formalizes a first joint commitment made hand in hand with the community, that of having access to the site and thus to start the project of serenity development.
This fact also testifies to the support and involvement of the Eiffage Aménagement teams with the communities. A partnership relationship that allows significant progress in a climate of cohesion with all the protagonists (City, Metropolis, Army, EPFL, etc.) for the benefit of the project.
