Hypérion receives the BBCA (low carbon building) label, proof of its exemplary in terms of decarbonized economy

At the 2019 BBCA Forum on December 3rd, 23 exemplary low carbon building operations were awarded the BBCA label, including Hypérion in the new residential category. A fine distinction that highlights Eiffage Construction’s expertise in reducing the building’s carbon footprint.

Awarded by four certifiers: Certivéa, Cerqual, Promotelec Services, Prestaterre, the BBCA label highlights Hypérion’s stated low-carbon ambition, France’s first wood-dwelling tour by Eiffage Immobilier.
This new distinction attests to a reduction in the carbon footprint over 50 years, through avoided or stored emissions, between 250 and more than 700 kg of CO2/m² of floor area depending on the type of building and the BBCA level reached (Standard, Performance or Excellence - Reference 2018).
With 1,400 m³ of solid wood – a carbon trap – Hyperion concentrates the equivalent of 1,000 tonnes of CO ... That is a volume comparable to 9 years of energy consumed for such a building. Its implementation reduces by 25% the CO emissions of the site. Finally, over the entire life cycle of the building, it will save almost 15 tonnes of CO per unit!

A true feat of architecture, imagined by the firm Viguier, and of techniques, implemented by Eiffage Immobilier and Eiffage Construction, Hypérion is an inspiring example of the sustainable construction of the city of tomorrow!

Congratulations to the teams of Eiffage Immobilier, Eiffage Construction and Eiffage’s Sustainable Development and Innovation Department for this new award!
