Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse and President of Toulouse Métropole and Christian Birbaud, Regional Director of Eiffage Construction Sud-Ouest, laid the foundation stone for Mama Shelter Toulouse on Monday 6 March, in the presence of Serge and Jérémie Trigano, co-founders From Mama Shelter.
The redevelopment of the site of the former cinema of the New, ceded by the City of Toulouse to the group Eiffage Immobilier, to make it a hotel and a place of cultural life under the brand Mama Shelter, is now launched.
This 5,000 m² building in the historic center of Toulouse will include a 120-room hotel with a patio, bar, restaurant and a 280 m² "roof top".
Specificity Toulouse, the place revives its close connection with the cinema with a room of projection, the Cinemama, also room of spectacles.
The architecture of the building, which will preserve, at the request of the Mayor of Toulouse, the patrimonial facade and the four arches overlooking the boulevard was entrusted to the architecture agency Toulouse Puig Pujol.
The Mama Shelter Toulouse is expected to open its doors in the fall of 2018.
