Eiffage Immobilier chosen to rebuild the gendarmerie of Chaumont in Haute-Marne

This Wednesday, December 4, Jacques Delaine, Regional Director of Eiffage Construction in the East and Nicolas Lacroix, President of the Departmental Council of the Haute-Marne, have signed a real estate promotion contract for the construction on a new site of a building uniting the group of departmental gendarmerie of the Haute-Marne and the gendarmerie company of Chaumont.

This complex, with a floor area of more than 10,000 m², will be built on a new site, the old one having become too old. In addition to the gendarmerie, 74 functional units will be built in the city of Chaumont. The latter will benefit from district heating and meet the requirements of the thermal regulation RT 2012.

This project was developed by the architects Atelier Atequi and Delphine Thiant and will be carried out by the teams of Eiffage Immobilier, Eiffage Construction and Eiffage Route.
The environmental quality of this project depends first of all on an appropriate design, as close as possible to the expectations of the gendarmerie, its public service mission and the needs of the families housed on site. Some principles were defined and guided the group in its work:
  • very durable works for a controlled overall cost,
  • simple and compact buildings with low energy costs,
  • healthy materials for the health of the occupants.
The principles of volumetric organization make it possible to promote as much as possible a bioclimatic architecture.

The next few months will be devoted to administrative authorizations and environmental studies; work will begin in November 2020, with delivery in March 2022.
