Two years after the delivery of the 1st phase, Eiffage Construction, Eiffage Energie, Eiffage Métal and Goyer teams delivered in December, 2017 the 2nd part of the RDI Urbalad campus to Michelin group.
This second part consists of a new building complex built in 10 months only. Of a 70 000 m ² surface, this set is divided in 6 buildings. A big ombrière of 26 000 m ², aiming at regulating the thermal variations of the building, overhangs 8 other buildings of the first phase of realization. Besides, a main zone of 320 meters long, called "street of the innovation", will favor the informal exchanges. This structure will link symbolically two essential entities of the Michelin Research and Development campus, the one about "materials" and the one of "the tire's architecture".
During the first phase of realization, Eiffage Construction realized 8 buildings in which there are 80 working platforms, places of training and documentation, a room of multimedia, a staff canteen, a fitness gym room, a bakery and an apartment house.
This huge operation extends over a 450 hectare plot of land. The whole campus will include later before 2021 170 000 m ², among which 97 000 m ² realized by Eiffage. They will be dedicated to the international search for Michelin on the site of Ladoux (manufacturing shops of tests, research laboratories ...). The total amount of this investment is 270 million euros on the whole project.
