Eiffage Construction starts the works of the laboratory of medical biology and biopathology of the CHRU of Nancy

It is in the presence of the representatives of the region, of the CHRU of Nancy, the institute of Cancer research of Lorraine and Jacques Delaine, Regional manager of Eiffage Construction Grand Est, that the first stone of the building of medical biology and biopathology was put on last January 19th. This future building, managed by the CHRU of Nancy and the institute of cancer research of Lorraine (ICL), will rhyme with technical, technological and functional efficiency.

This operation, confided as a part of a design/realization to Eiffage Construction Lorraine, joins within the framework of the plan of refoundation of the CHU, which consists in grouping the activities of medical biology of the CHRU and those of biopathology of the institute of the ICL and the CHRU within an extension on the site of the hospitals of Brabois.

The first phase of this construction site ended in August, 2017 with the removal of asbestos and the demolition of the tower Drouet.
The future building of medical biology and biopathology will be located instead of the tower Drouet and connected by a footbridge to the sites of the CHRU and the ICL.

Made on three levels for a total surface of 8.000 m ², the new building, designed by architect's cabinet Art and Build Architect, will accommodate the activities of medical biology, molecular biology and the activities of the French Establishment of the blood ( EFS) for the region Grand Est.

Its facade, made up of sheet steels of drilled aluminum, inspired by the diagram of Voronoi (drawing of cells looking like the surface of a shell of tortoise) will so make a reference to the sample analysis at the cellular level.

The amount of the works is 23 M€ HT and its delivery is planned during 2019.
