In Poitou Charentes (France), Eiffage Construction has just signed a contract for the reconstruction in Niort of a factory with the aeronautical manufacturer Leach International Europe.
The challenge of rebuilding this plant is strong: in August 2019, a fire had ravaged the site, jeopardizing the employment of its more than 200 workers. In May 2020, the health situation seemed unfavourable to the continuation of this reconstruction project. But it was without counting on the commitment and coordination of factory employees and Eiffage Construction teams who, working together, made it possible to maintain the signature of the contract – in the presence of Christian Birbaud, Regional Director in South-West of France, and Laura Cambe, Eiffage Construction Director in Poitou-Charentes area in France – and the launch of the work. Eiffage Construction is proud to contribute to the revival of this company, a local actor for employment.
The project, known as the "Phoenix Project", involves the construction of a plant specialized in electrical, aeronautical and rail distribution. It will start in June, for work lasting 9 months that will involve about 15 companions, and a delivery scheduled in early 2021.
The building with a usable area of 4,978 m² will house a workshop on a surface of 3,680 m2 as well as offices and sanitary spaces.
