Eiffage Construction hands the keys of the congresses center Robert-Schuman to its owners M3Congrès and Metz-Metropolis

Last July 2nd, the Congresses center of Metz, built by Eiffage Construction, was officially delivered after 2 and a half years of works.
During the ceremony of inventory of fixtures, a set, of keys symbolically passed from Fabien Darchis's hands, director of Eiffage Construction of Lorraine to those of Thierry Jean, CEO of M3 Congress, then to Dominique Gros, mayor of Metz and finally to Michel Coqué, managing director of Metz Evénements.

Located in front of Center Pompidou-Metz and leaned in the TGV station of Metz-city, the congresses center Robert Schuman allows to register Metz Métropole among the big destinations of business tourism and by this way; it strengthens its attractiveness.
Eiffage Construction Lorraine is proxy of the grouping of Design / Realization / Exploitation / Maintenance of this building of 15 300m ². Eiffage Energie also participated as co-handling technical lots.

Under construction since in February, 2016, the center, in R+5, includes:

  • an auditorium of 1 200 places,
  • a room of exhibition which can welcome 210 stands,
  • 16 rooms of committees.

Every floor has a readable programming and a traffic plan allowing the users to take advantage at the most of panoramic views on the city.
Horizontally, the organization is split into 2 very different parts: in the North are located zones connected to the exhibitions, whereas the south half is reserved for the logistic and technical parts as well as for the auditorium.

Designed by the cabinet Wilmotte and Partners Architects, the center is inspired by the local identity and values it, at the same time by its architecture, but also by the sights which it offers on the surrounding heritage. This project has for objective to be a real stopping-off place, alive and attractive. A quite particular attention was carried on squares and footbridge.

The official inauguration of the Center Metz Congrès Robert Schuman will take place on September 7th, 2018 and the opening to the public will be made on the occasion of European Heritage Days on the next September 15th and 16th.
